Governance

SGT Governance

The SGT Network is governed by the SGT Board which is elected bi-annually by the SGT General Assembly. The board consists of a chair, a secretary, a treasurer and three committees – the communication committee, the event committee and the committee of trust. The chair, the secretary, the treasurer and the three committee chairs together form the SGT Executive Board that is responsible for the day to day operations of the SGT Network. For more information, you can consult our Articles of Association in English (a slightly curated automatic translation, not legally binding) and in Dutch (original, legally binding). This document summarises the process by which we nominate and elect committee and executive committee members.

If you have any questions about the newsletter and your membership, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@socio-gerontechnology.net. If would like to know more about or even join one of our committees, please get in touch with the committee chairs (see below).

SGT Committees

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee is there to foster exchange between network members and to increase the visibility of Socio-gerontechnology, within and outside of academia. It is responsible for communication within the network (internal communication) and to the wider public (external communication). To do so, we issue regular newsletters for our members, disseminate exciting events, publications or job postings via our Social Media channels (Bluesky, LinkedIn), and maintain our website.

Events Committee

The Events committee is responsible for identifying conferences of interest to the network and co-ordinating panels at these conferences, supporting the planning of our annual event and other network events, including events for early career researchers, policy makers and practitioners.

Committee of Trust

Aims to ensure that (the events of) the Socio-gerontechnology network take place in a productive atmosphere of mutual respect. The CoT is a confidential and trustworthy contact point for all members. The CoT deals with conflicts and ethical issues that may arise.
